As part of the German government's National Hydrogen Strategy H2Mare has taken the first step towards developing a large-scale system for generating green hydrogen from offshore wind energy: hydrogen directly from the wind turbine. The webinar on April 12, 2022 will provide deeper insights into this innovative project.

Hydrogen has never gained more attention or excitement, with global hydrogen production to more than double by 2030 following international public and private sector commitments. In the realm of the German governments National Hydrogen Strategy, H2Mare, one of the hydrogen flagship projects launched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has now taken the first step towards the development of a large-scale system generating green hydrogen from offshore wind energy: Hydrogen straight from the wind turbine.
An electrolyser is fully integrated into an offshore wind turbine to directly produce green hydrogen then and there, enabling off-grid operation and reducing the production cost of hydrogen. At the same time more and even better suited wind turbine locations can be utilized for hydrogen production.
