Senvion starts operation of 150 MW windfarm in Canada

Project is an equal partnership between a utility company and three native communities

47 Senvion wind turbines started spinning at a 150 MW windfarm in Quebec, Canada, as the turbine amnufacturer announces in a press release. It is the biggest First Nations windfarm in Canada and can power about 50,500 households with renewable energy for one year. The project is an equal partnership between Innergex and the three Mi'gmaq communities located in the region.

The windfarm features 46 Senvion 3.2M114 type turbines and one Senvion MM92 especially designed and engineered for cold climates and equipped with an anti-icing mechanism. The blades and towers were manufactured locally in Quebec, by LM Wind Power in Gaspé and Marmen in Matane.
