Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein together - the model region for innovative projects to integrate energy sectors.
Hamburg
room A 4.3 (room Osaka), hall 4 Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH Messeplatz 1
The latest amendment of the Renewable-Energy-Act as well as the growing competition put increasing pressure on the German wind industry to both innovate and reduce cost. At the same time the energy sector is faced with new challenges and it must soon find an answer to this key question: How can surplus renewable electricity be stored or transformed into other forms of energy like heat or mobility through integration projects across energy sectors?
Northern Germany, especially the States of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, are very well positioned to become a model region for such integration projects, due to their high affinity for renewable energies combined with a very high number of wind turbines. Some innovative landmark projects will be presented at this side event of the WindEnergy Hamburg.
